Dear All,
Well, after 14 years up at the front guiding thousands of tarmac hungry riders, tens of thousands of miles all over France, Spain, Andorra, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany at what I think can be fairly described as a “brisk” pace I think it’s time to quit while I’m ahead so, after much soul searching I’ve finally decided to hang up my guiding bib and event organizer hat and pursue other interests a bit closer to home.
Home is now in the French Alps where we are hoping to complete the renovation of
our Mountain Chalet this summer so we should be ready to receive Skiing guests for
Christmas 2008 and then Biking and Summer Mountain Activity guests the following
summer. As well as the fantastic road riding that’s on offer in the surrounding mountains
it is our intention to run action packed holidays from our beautiful base here in
the Alpes Savoie with Parapenting, White Water Rafting, Canyoning, Downhill Mountain
Biking, Climbing, Walking, Via Ferrata and Motorcycle Trail Riding on the endless
high mountain trails that lead off into the wilderness behind our chalet amongst
the activities available……or you could just park the bike up here (or car, if you’re
bringing the family) and chill out in the clean warm mountain air! If Skiing is your
passion then in winter our snowy hideaway will offer easy access to the huge 3 Valleys
ski area covering the Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens (Belleville) valleys which
offer an unparalleled choice of on and off-
A new web site will be launched to cover our new activities so keep an eye out for www.mountainsofadventure.com which will go live towards the end of 2008.
Before signing off I must of course say a huge thank you to all the regulars out there who have supported us over the years – I will miss your company on the road and probably most of all the banter in the bar!
Warmest regards,
Simon Byrne.
